ఈ మధ్యకాలంలో తెలుగు సినిమాలకి చాలా పెద్ద దన్నుగా మారింది ఓవర్సీస్ మార్కెట్. అక్కడ కూడా తెలుగు వాళ్ళ సంఖ్య పెరగడం, వాళ్ళలో ఎక్కువమందికి వీకెండ్ ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ డెస్టినీ సినిమానే కావడం, అక్కడ డిస్ట్రిబ్యూటర్స్ కూడా మన సినిమాలు రిలీజ్ చేస్తుండడానికి పోటీపడుతుండడంతో భారీ డిమాండ్ ఏర్పడుతుంది. స్టార్స్ సినిమాలు అయితే ఏకంగా ప్రీమియర్స్‌తోనే వన్ మిలియన్ డాలర్స్ కొల్లగొడుతున్నాయి. ఈ క్రమంలో ఓవర్సీస్ ప్రీమియర్స్‌ కలెక్షన్స్‌లో ప్రభాస్ నటించిన ‘సాహో’ సరికొత్త రికార్డ్స్ సృష్టిస్తుంది అని అంతా అంచనా వేసారు. నాన్ సాహో రికార్డ్స్ అనే పేరు రావడం ఖాయమనుకున్నారు. కానీ అలా జరగలేదు. ఇండియన్ సినిమాకి వరల్డ్‌క్లాస్ రేంజ్‌లో ఒక స్టాండర్డ్ సెట్ చేసిన ‘బాహుబలి’ టాప్‌ప్లేస్‌లోనే నిలిచింది. ప్రీమియర్స్‌తోనే 2.45 మిలియన్స్ కలెక్ట్ చేసిన ‘బాహుబలి-2’.. ‘సాహో’కి అందనంత ఎత్తులో నిలిచింది. ఓవర్సీస్ కలెక్షన్ రికార్డ్స్‌లో ‘సాహో’ కనీసం సెకండ్ ప్లేస్ కూడా దక్కించుకోలేకపోయింది. ఇంకా కరెక్ట్‌గా చెప్పాలంటే అసలు వన్ మిలియన్ మార్క్‌నే టచ్ చెయ్యలేకపోయింది. ఆల్‌టైం లిస్ట్‌లో టాప్-6 ప్లేస్‌తో సరిపెట్టుకుంది ‘సాహో’. పవన్ కళ్యాణ్-త్రివిక్రమ్‌ల కాంబో‌లో వచ్చిన ‘అజ్ఞాతవాసి’ ఒకటిన్నర మిలియన్ డాలర్స్ కలెక్ట్ చేసి ఆల్‌టైం టాప్ సెకండ్ ప్లేస్‌లో నిలిచింది. ‘బాహుబలి’, ‘ఖైదీ నెంబర్ 150’ సినిమాలు ఆ తరువాతి స్థానాల్లో ఉన్నాయి. Also Read: చివరికి మహేష్ బాబు కెరీర్‌లోనే బిగ్గెస్ట్ డిజాస్టర్ అనిపించుకున్న ‘స్పైడర్’ సైతం ప్రీమియర్స్‌తోనే వన్ మిలియన్ డాలర్స్ క్లబ్‌లో చేరింది. అయితే, ఆ తరువాత విపరీతమైన డ్రాప్‌తో భారీ నష్టాలు మిగిల్చింది. కానీ భారీ హైప్ , ఆఫ్టర్ ‘బాహుబలి’ అనే స్ట్రాంగ్‌ట్యాగ్‌తో వచ్చిన సినిమా అయ్యుండి కూడా ‘సాహో’ కనీసం మిలియన్ డాలర్స్ కూడా కలెక్ట్ చెయ్యలేకపోవడం మాత్రం కాస్త ఆశ్చర్యం కలిగించే విషయమే. ఓవర్సీస్లో తెలుగు, తమిళ్, హిందీ వెర్షన్స్ కలుపుకుని కేవలం ఎనిమిదిన్నర లక్షల డాలర్స్‌కి కాస్త పైచిలుకు అమౌంట్ మాత్రమే కలెక్ట్ చేసింది ‘సాహో’. మరీ ఇంత పూర్‌గా పెర్ఫార్మ్ చెయ్యడానికి కారణం మాత్రం టికెట్ రేటు పెంచడమే అనే వాదన గట్టిగా వినిపిస్తోంది. ఆ ప్రభావం ప్రీమియర్ కలెక్షన్స్‌పై భారీగా పడిందని అంటున్నారు. తెలుగు వెర్షన్‌కి కాస్త బాగానే అడ్వాన్స్ బుకింగ్స్ వచ్చాయి. కానీ హిందీ, తమిళ్ వెర్షన్స్ చాలా తక్కువ అమౌంట్స్ కలెక్ట్ చేసాయి. ఇక డొమెస్టిక్ సర్క్యూట్స్‌లో వచ్చిన రెస్పాన్స్, రేటింగ్స్ ప్రభావం వల్ల ఓవర్సీస్లో చాలామంది టికెట్ క్యాన్సిలేషన్‌ని వాడుతున్నారు. సినిమాలో చెప్పినట్టు ఓవర్సీస్లో ఉన్న ప్రభాస్ ఫ్యాన్స్, డై హార్డ్ ఫ్యాన్స్ మాత్రం సినిమాకి మంచి మౌత్ టాక్ స్ప్రెడ్ చెయ్యడానికి ట్రై చేస్తున్నారు. సినిమాకి హిట్ టాక్ వచ్చుంటే ఆ దూకుడు వేరేలా ఉండేది. ఇప్పడు లాభాలు అనే మాట పక్కనబెట్టి కొన్న అమౌంట్ రాబట్టుకోటానికి డిస్కౌంట్స్, వన్ ప్లస్ వన్ ఆఫర్స్ లాంటివి ప్లాన్ చెయ్యాల్సి వస్తుంది. Kumaravadivel Natarajan known to us as Vadivelu is one of Tamil Cinema's all-time favourite comedians. Although we might not have been seeing him too often on screen these days, we can’t deny the fact that no one can reach the mark he has created in the Comedy Genre of Tamil Cinema.
