Dia Mirza is one of the popular actresses of Indian film industry and she was last seen playing the crucial role in recently released Telugu film Wild Dog under the direction of Solomon in which King Nagarjuna played the lead role. The actress started her career in the year 2001, and recently Dia Mirza spoke about how people were making s*xist cinemas back then. Wild Dog lady Dia Mirza also pointed out how the s*x ratio of women in the filming crew was drastically broken.
Sanju fame Dia Mirza talks about the rampant s*xism that was a part of the entertainment industry during her early days, as she said, “People were thinking, writing and making s*xist cinema, and I was a part of these stories. Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein has s*xism in it. We live in a patriarchal society. And it is an industry that is largely led by men.”
Dia Mirza also stated that during those times, a makeup artist could only be a man, and the job of a hairdresser could only be done by a woman.
According to Dia Mirza, when she started working in movies there were at best about 4 or 5 women on any given crew with a unit strength of over 120, sometimes 180 people.
