The Comedian and supporting actor Nellai Siva passed away yesterday evening at his residence in Tirunelveli. Nellai Siva who is known for playing the supporting roles in Tamil movies, was 69 and he suffering from age-related ailments. Nellai Siva died of a heart attack at home in his hometown of Panakudi in Tirunelveli district. He was unmarried and worked mostly in comedy scenes in the movies. His way of speaking in the films was completely of Nellai slang, which showed him unique from other supporting actors. Nellai Siva acted in over 500 films in his career
Nellai Siva was a fan of popular actor Sivaji Ganesan and he came to Chennai to make a break in films. He made his debut with Pandiarajan’ directorial venture Aanpaavam which was released in 1985, and later he continued to act in multiple movies over the decades. Nellai Siva was popular for his ‘Kenaru’ comedy, co-starring Vadivelu in the Prasanna starrer Kannum Kannum.
He is known for acting in few movies such as Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikecei, Ambasamudram Ambani and Saamy.
Apart from the film, the veteran actor Nellai Siva was seen on Television in serials like ‘Pandian Stores’ and ‘Mama Maaple’. On the work front, he was last seen in Trisha starrer political thriller drama Paramapadham Vilayattu, directed by Thirugnanam ,which had a direct OTT release.
