A 74 years old named Hameedudin from Khairtabad has been found COVID-19 positive after his death. Hameedudin had visited New Delhi for a religious congregation on 14th March and returned to Hyderabad on 17th March. After coming back to Hyderabad, he developed an eye infection, followed by fever and respiratory illness. He was admitted at a private hospital at Saifabad for treatment, not as a COVID-19 patient and the doctor gave him nebulizer and on Thursday late night, the old man died at his residence. Health authorities brought Hameedudin’ body to Gandhi hospital.
When the health official came to know that he had travel history to Delhi, they took his body, collected the samples which tested positive for coronavirus.
Health Officials said Hameedudin was neither under quarantine nor was the official health machinery aware that he had contracted coronavirus.
He left the whole surrounding on high alert. His family members are under home quarantine. On Saturday, Telangana has recorded six new +ive cases taking the total to 65.
The health minister has appealed to the people to inform about their ailments to the authorities, especially when they have a travel history. The minister has also clarified that there are no Red Zones declared in Hyderabad.
